About me

As an experienced clinical psychologist, I place particular importance on building a trusting therapeutic relationship. I believe that feeling understood, safe, and not judged is central to effective psychological work. I aim to offer a space where people feel able to reflect, make sense of their experiences, and move forward in a way that feels right for them.

I support people experiencing a range of difficulties, including anxiety, low mood, anger, trauma, OCD, difficulties with self-esteem and relationships, loss, life transitions, as well as challenges related to neurodevelopmental conditions such as ADHD and autism.

I completed my Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (DClinPsy) at University College London in 2002.

I have over 30 years’ experience working in psychology, including more than two decades of experience as a qualified Clinical Psychologist.

Over the years, I have worked across a range of NHS settings, including significant experience in CAMHS, working with children, adolescents, and families presenting with a wide range of emotional and psychological difficulties, as well as in private practice, where I continue to work with individuals across the lifespan.

My work is grounded in evidence-based psychological therapies, drawing on a range of models including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), encompassing both standard and third wave approaches, such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT), as well as psychodynamic and systemic approaches and EMDR. I integrate these approaches with a relational and developmental understanding of each individual.

I am registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC; registration number PYL22457) and a Chartered Psychologist with the British Psychological Society (BPS).

Beyond my professional role, I am also a parent of three children of different ages, including a child with additional needs. This gives me a personal appreciation of the complexities and emotional demands that people and families can experience in different stages of life.
